2006 

Kathie Harris received an NIH Program Project Grant for Add Health Wave IV in January 2006.

 Arne Kalleberg was elected President of the ASA for 2006-2007 term.

 Peggy Thoits received the “Sociology of Emotions Section Award for Distinguished Lifetime Achievement” at the ASA Montreal 2006.

 Peter Uhlenberg received the “Matilda White Riley Distinguished Scholar Award” at the ASA Montreal 2006.

 Guang Guo received an R03 Award of  $100,000 from the NIH in August 2006.

 Andrew Perrin received a $50,000 grant to support his project “Before the Public Sphere: The Frankfurt School, Public Opinion, and the Group Experiment of 1950” in August 2006.

 Lisa Pearce published Mixed Methods Data Collection Strategies with William Axinn.

 Andrew Perrin published Citizen Speak.

 

2007

Lisa Pearce has been awarded the Junior Faculty Development grant for 2007.

 Andrew Perrin has been selected as a Faculty Fellow of the Institute for the Arts and Humanities (IAH) for 2007.

 Arne Kalleberg published The Mismatched Worker in January 2007.

Barbara Entwisle was awarded a Kenan Professorship in recognition of her career of distinguished scholarship.

Ted Mouw was awarded the Tanner Undergraduate Teaching Award.
