On Friday, May 10, the Carolina Center for Public Service honored 258 seniors graduating as Buckley Public Service Scholars in May or august at a special ceremony at Memorial Hall. This year’s class included 10 students who graduated with majors from the Department of Sociology.
Launched in 2003, the Buckley Public Service Scholars program encourages students to learn about and practice public service and engagement beyond the scope of traditional volunteerism, including organizational service, policy and advocacy work, fundraising and philanthrophy.
