This site is meant to assist students in the UNC Sociology department in finding external funding opportunities.  Also, this site is used to centralize and organize information that is helpful in navigating the grant writing process.  Opportunities, tips, and helpful websites are updated regularly.

Funding from The Graduate School

The Graduate School offers a number of funding opportunities for UNC Sociology students. This site lists available fellowships, assistantships, awards, and upcoming deadlines. These opportunities require department nomination and must be submitted to the department 2 weeks before the Graduate School deadline.

Grant Source Library

The Grant Source Library is a resource for UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students seeking information on funding sources for independent research, collaborative projects, fellowships, program development, and other scholarly activities. We provide assistance and instruction on the best use of our resources. The library is part of the Office of Information and Communications.

UNC Research

UNC Research offers research assistance to graduate students, including help in identifying funding opportunities, proposal development, award management, research oversight & compliance, publicizing research success, community economic development, technology development and transfer, building relationships with government, and building relationships with private industry.
