Stay connected during Virtual Visiting Days through GroupMe – a free group messaging app. GroupMe works on Windows, Android, iOS, and the Web. You can also download the GroupMe app and use your phone to connect. You can use your phone number, facebook, or an email address to join the group. Want more information about GroupMe? You can find that here.

We’ve created two Chats on GroupMe for our Virtual Visiting Days that you can join below. When you join the chats, please be sure to include the name you want to be called and your pronouns as part of your profile.

Our current students are planning to be active on GroupMe starting Tuesday, February 23. Please note, however, that students are excited to meet you, so they may jump on the chats before that!

The main UNC Sociology Visiting Days Chat is a place where you can go to talk with current students, other newly admitted students, and members of the Virtual Visiting Days Planning Committee on February 25 & February 26. If you need tech support, have a question about a panel, or just want to share a thought you can do that in this chat.

Then, there is the UNC Sociology Visiting Days New Students Chat that’s just for our newly admitted students! Join this group to stay in touch, create community, and ask questions.
