Athena Owirodu (pictured), a second-year Sociology PhD student, has earned a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship (NSF GRFP). This highly competitive fellowship is awarded to approximately 2,000 full-time STEM graduate students who demonstrate outstanding potential for research achievement. The award includes three years of funding in the form of tuition support and an annual stipend.

Graduate student Alexandra Ro received an Honorable Mention.
