Dr. Sherryl Kleinman has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Faculty Mentoring Award sponsored by the Carolina Women’s Leadership Council in the Faculty to Undergraduate Student mentoring category. This award, which carries with it a $5,000 stipend, recognizes outstanding faculty members who go the extra mile to guide, mentor, and lead undergraduate and graduate students and junior faculty as they make important career decisions, embark on innovative research challenges, and enrich their lives through public service, teaching, and meaningful educational opportunities. All tenured and tenure-track faculty, as well as fixed-term faculty who have taught at UNC-Chapel Hill for at least three years, were eligible for the award.

A reception will be held later this spring in honor of the remarkable mentoring that Faculty Mentoring Awards recipients have provided.
